Karachi Press Club Secretary Shoaib Ahmed emphasized the fundamental role that poets and writers play in improving and reforming society. He noted that societies where writers and poets express themselves freely progress significantly in national development. Ahmed described Pakistan as a beautiful bouquet of diverse languages and ethnicities, which will continue to thrive and spread its fragrance eternally.
On Saturday, renowned Saraiki poets Jahangir Mukhlis and Shahid Alam Shahid visited the Karachi Press Club and met with Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, Joint Secretary Muhammad Munsif, and Governing Body member Noor Muhammad Kalhoro. The meeting was also attended by Saeed Khawar, Editor of Daily 92 News, Secretary of the Press and Publication Committee Abdul Rehman, and other members.
Secretary Shoaib Ahmed highlighted that the Saraiki region is known for its loving people, and poets who write in this language hold a special place in the hearts of the Pakistani public. Saeed Khawar praised the Karachi Press Club for its recognition and support of writers and poets from various languages, especially Saraiki, noting that such appreciation is rarely seen in other clubs across the country. He mentioned that the Club plays a vital role in promoting knowledge and literature, as evidenced by the special reception for the distinguished poets from Bahawalpur. He credited the current President Saeed Sarbazi and Secretary Shoaib Ahmed for their efforts.
The renowned Saraiki poets Jahangir Mukhlis and Shahid Alam Shahid expressed their gratitude to Secretary Shoaib Ahmed and other officials for honoring poets from underrepresented regions. During the event, Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, Joint Secretary Muhammad Munsif, and other members presented the visiting poets with the traditional Sindhi Ajrak as a token of appreciation and thanked them for their visit to the Karachi Press Club.
