Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has reaffirmed his commitment to resolving key issues faced by the 700 new members of the Karachi Press Club (KPC). During his visit, he announced plans to allocate plots, construct boundary walls in Hawksbay Housing Society, and expedite lease issuance through the Lyari Development Authority. Additionally, a payment formula of 80/20 was introduced for members in MDA. The Chief Minister assured swift resolution of pending concerns within a month and promised to revisit KPC in early November for a progress review.

Murad Ali Shah’s visit was accompanied by provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Saeed Ghani, and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah. The governing body of KPC, led by President Saeed Sarbazi and Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, expressed their gratitude for increasing the club’s grant to Rs 70 million and acknowledged the government’s continuous support in resolving long-standing issues. The Chief Minister emphasized the historical importance of the Karachi Press Club for democracy and journalism, recalling the struggles led by leaders like Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He also highlighted the responsibility of the media to maintain integrity and ensure factual reporting, noting that the misuse of journalism undermines its credibility.

Shah reiterated his dedication to addressing journalists’ concerns and tackling ongoing development issues. He also touched upon key political reforms and announced the inclusion of the constitutional court in PPP’s 2024 manifesto.
