The Karachi Press Club (KPC) held the balloting ceremony for Hawks Bay plots for its new members on Saturday, with 639 KPC members included in the balloting.
The ceremony was attended by Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani, KPC President Fazil Jamili, Secretary Aslam Khan, DG LDA, and a large number of journalists.
Addressing the ceremony, Nasir Hussain Shah said the provision of plots to KPC members was a welcome initiative and an important commitment being fulfilled. He said the Hawks Bay Scheme would be connected to Shahrah-e-Bhutto under its third phase, while encroachments along existing Hawks Bay roads were also being removed to improve access. He added that work was also underway to facilitate bank loans on easy instalments for construction of houses on the plots.
KPC President Fazil Jamili thanked Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani for their support, and acknowledged the efforts of former Secretary Rizwan Bhatti and former President Saeed Sarbazi in advancing the plots initiative.
KPC Secretary Aslam Khan said that following the balloting, all KPC Council members would become plot holders. He emphasized that the balloting process was being conducted transparently and in accordance with the rules and regulations.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the welfare of Karachi Press Club members, while the balloting brought a wave of happiness among members and their families.
