The Karachi Press Club (KPC) hosted a gathering at its Board Room in honor of Pakistani-American journalist Arif Afzal Usmani, attended by sports journalists and friends. KPC President Fazil Jamili and Secretary Aslam Khan welcomed the distinguished guest.
Senior sports journalist Ehsan Qureshi, while introducing Arif Afzal Usmani, highlighted his more than four decades of journalism, particularly his contributions to sports journalism. He also worked with Radio Pakistan and published the popular Cricket Club magazine.
After moving to the United States, Usmani began a new chapter in his career and built a successful journalistic presence through years of hard work. For the past 16 years, he has been publishing an Urdu newspaper from New York.
Speaking on the occasion, Arif Afzal Usmani thanked the hosts and participants and shared his journey and struggles from Landhi to New York.
At the conclusion of the gathering, KPC Secretary Aslam Khan presented the guest with a traditional Ajrak and a commemorative shield on behalf of the Karachi Press Club.
