On behalf of the journalists community and its members, Karachi Press Club (KPC) condemns the Zionist state of Israel for its air and ground aggressions against the people of Palestine and media houses in the strongest possible words.
It also deplores the killings of innocent people of Gaza that include women, children, infants, aged and youth at the hands of Zionist forces in the holy land of Palestine.
In a statement Fazil Jamili President and Muhammad Rizwan Bhatti Secretary KPC, slammed the Zionist regime of Israel for carrying out airstrikes at the building in Gaza housing the Al-Jazeera and the Associated Press (AP) offices during the unilaterally declared war against Palestine.
The airstrikes, they added, not pulled down the building leaving the members of media at the risks of life dangers, but also exposed Tell Aviv’s claim about press freedom. The Zionist regime of Israel also showed event not the slightest respect for press and media freedom covering the war.
The fresh offence into Gaza has given a rise to the threats for journalists in the war-hit zones of Palestine by the Zionist regime of Israel, they added.
The KPC has appealed to the United Nations to step up its efforts to de-escalate the war that Zionist regime of Israel has waged against the people of Palestine.
The UN, insofar, has turned a blind eye to the atrocities of Zionist regime against Palestinians and the continuing human rights violations in Gaza and parts of the Jewish state, they further said.
The KPC office bearers demanded that UN should also come up with a comprehensive and durable plan to end the Zionist rule over the state of Palestine and undertake efforts to enforce its declarations.
The UN should also step up protection to the journalists community in Palestine and inside the Zionist state of Israel, following airstrike on media houses in Gaza.
The KPC reckons the role and silence of the UN is surely undermining the whole concept of the UN’s charter advocating for upholding peace, stability, human rights, and press freedom, especially in the case of Israeli offence of Palestine.
The KPC hopes the UN will play its pivotal role not only de-escalating the all-out war by Zionist state of Israel against Palestinians but also step up to end the Jewish occupation once and for all.
The world, which is already embattled with the deadly Covid-19, besides growing climate chaos, cannot be ready to see the spread of war in the Middle East and elsewhere as a result of this Israeli aggression.
The KPC extended complete support to the entire journalists fraternity of Palestine particularly the members of Al-Jazeera and the Associated Press facing life threats from the Jewish regime of Israel, while covering the war.
It also expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine including the victims of Israel’s aggression.
KPC hopes that peace and sanity will prevail.
