Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori emphasized the crucial role of journalism in nation-building, stating that the survival and stability of democracy are impossible without a free press. He shared these views during a meeting with Karachi Press Club (KPC) officials at Governor House on August 24. The meeting was attended by President Saeed Sarbazi, Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, Joint Secretary Muhammad Munsif, and other governing body members.
The discussion centered on the welfare of the journalist community. Governor Tessori assured that the challenges faced by journalists would be addressed promptly. He recognized journalism as the “fourth pillar of democracy” and society’s “watchful eye,” bringing both positive and negative aspects to light.
