Minister Counsellor of Public Affairs at the US Embassy Islamabad Ms Lisa Heller along with other US diplomats visited the Karachi Press Club on Friday morning (Nov 22, 2019).

She was accompanied by other US diplomats including Jason Green, Ms Sydney, and Saif Jiskani. She met with the members of governing body and other senior and women members of the KPC.

Earlier she was welcomed on the arrival at the KPC by its Secretary Arman Sabir. US diplomats were presented Ajrak and bouquet.

​Lisa Heller began her tour as Minister Counsellor for Public Affairs at the US Embassy Islamabad in September 2019.  Previously she served as Director of the Office of Public Diplomacy in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs from 2017 to 2019.

Prior to that, she was the Minister Counsellor for Public Affairs at the US Embassy in Beijing, China.  In almost three decades in the Foreign Service, Ms. Heller has served numerous tours in China, as well as in Seoul, Korea and Kyiv, Ukraine.  She also led the Africa and Europe teams in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor and was the China Desk Officer at the former United States Information Agency before that agency merged with the State Department.

Before joining the Foreign Service, Ms. Heller worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency in San Francisco and for NASA’s Space Station Program.  She has a BA from Princeton University and an MA from the University of Minnesota. She has also studied at the University of California Berkeley and the Matsushita Institute in Chigasaki, Japan.
