Karachi Press Club in collaboration with the Dr Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre organised an Awareness Lecture on World Diabetes Day on November 14, 2019 at the Karachi Press Club.

Dr Jaipal Chhabria, Consultant Eye Surgeon spoke at length about the complications emerged in the aftermath of the diabetes. He said that diabetes should be taken seriously and all relevant medical examinations should be conducted periodically.

He said that besides the medical tests relating to diabetes, such patients should take the test of creatinine in the blood because those patients whose creatinine increased up to 1.5 must stop taking some medicine and if they continued to take those medicine despite the fact that their creatinine had increased, they would develop other complications in their body.

A number of members attended the valuable and informative session about the diabetes, precautions, how to keep diabetes to a certain level and what types of tests needed periodically.

Along side the lecture, members’ tests (HbA1C) and sugar tests were conducted free of cost by the Dr Essa Laboratory and Diagnostic Centre.
