Arman Sabir is an investigative Pakistani journalist with over 25 years of experience in print, TV, radio and digital journalism. He is the incumbent Secretary of the Karachi Press Club. He is now working for the TV channel ARY News and based in Karachi.

Before joining the TV news channel on February 2014, he was associated with the BBC Urdu Service for almost six years. He had joined the BBC Urdu Service as a correspondent in August 2007.

Arman Sabir was also one of the two trainers in the BBC’s Lifeline project which was initiated for flood-affected people in 2010. He trained the fresh people to run the news bulletins on the radio.

He remained the investigative reporter in Pakistan’s leading newspaper daily Dawn from January 1999 to August 2007 where he did stories about the police department, power sector, railways, computerized national identity cards, transport, etc.

He started the career in journalism in 1993 from the independent wire service Pakistan Press International (PPI). He also worked for a brief period for Associated Press (AP).

Arman Sabir was the part of the research team in January-March 2014 that worked on a project with the MSI for USAID. He also delivered training lectures and participated in seminars, workshops, in the University of Karachi. He has visited the United States in 2004 to observe the election process.

He also visited the radio NPR in Texas. His live interview was aired on radio NPR. He also went to Washington D.C., Boston, Columbus, Seattle & Olympia where he visited different news outlets.

Arman Sabir has been struggling for the rights of journalists for long. He was elected as Secretary of the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) Dastoor in 2009. He held different positions in the Karachi Press Club since 2002.

Before being Secretary of the KPC, he held the position of Treasurer in 2013. Due to his straightforwardness and credibility he had earned a good name among the fraternity. Members of the KPC reposed confidence in him as he got the highest votes in the KPC Election 2019.
