Senator Aimal Wali Khan, Central President of Awami National Party (ANP), made a bold statement at a Meet the Press event at Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, claiming that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Taliban are one and the same, with PTI functioning as the political wing of the Taliban. He further added that law enforcement has lost control in over half of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and the flames engulfing the province will spread, leading to disastrous consequences.
Senator Wali Khan criticized the Supreme Court, accusing it of choosing cases that bring media attention instead of delivering justice. He reaffirmed ANP’s support for a constitutional court, which he proposed to ensure equal representation, including from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In a scathing critique, Aimal Wali Khan highlighted that Pakistan is playing a “double game” with the U.S. and China while harboring terrorists, a situation he believes is deteriorating the country’s image globally. He also addressed the economic challenges, stating that Pakistan doesn’t even have funds to pay pensions to retired employees and advocated for better relations and trade with neighboring countries.
Khan also emphasized that PTI has been backed by the West, with Israeli media openly supporting them. He criticized the government for inviting over 40,000 terrorists into Pakistan during Imran Khan’s regime, a move that he challenged in court.
In conclusion, Aimal Wali Khan called for an end to the cycle of media-driven court cases, calling for a more balanced and representative judicial system in Pakistan.
