The Democrats Panel won the Karachi Press Club annual elections 2020 while there is a tie for the president’s slot.
The candidates for the president, Imtiaz Khan Faran from Democrats and Ahmed Khan Malik from the United Panel got 579 votes each. It is for the first time in the history of the Karachi Press Club that there is a tie for the president’s slot. On the other hand, the constitution of the KPC is silent over the issue.
The Election Committee announced the results of the eleven other seats and froze the result for the president’s seat. It gave both the parties time to solve the matter amicably until Jan 6.
The EC announced that Saeed Sarbazi was elected as Vice President, Raja Kamran as Treasurer, Arman Sabir as Secretary, Saquib Sagheer as Joint Secretary while Beena Qayyom, Liaquat Mughal, Abdul Jabbar Nasir, Atiqur Rehman, Abdul Waheed Rajpar, Zain Ali, and Saeed Lashari were elected as members of the Governing Body.
