The Karachi Press Club’s Joint Action Committee (JAC) has condemned the forced dismissals of journalists from Daily 92, calling it a violation of human rights. In a meeting led by President Saeed Sarbazi, the committee discussed the growing trend of layoffs in media organizations, despite these institutions receiving significant financial incentives from the government. The committee decided to address the issue by writing to APNS and CPNE, urging them to take action against such layoffs. Additionally, an action plan was developed to provide legal aid to dismissed journalists, with a call for the government to stop advertising with media organizations involved in downsizing.
