A protest was held outside the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday against the murder of Awaz TV reporter Muhammad Bachal Ghaniyo, who was killed in the Raunti area of Ghotki. Journalists, including Karachi Press Club Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, PFUJ leader Khurshid Abbasi, and former KPC Governing Body member Zulfiqar Rajper, gathered to demand justice for the slain journalist.

Speaking at the protest, Shoaib Ahmed condemned the killing and criticized the Sindh government and law enforcement agencies for their failure to arrest the murderers of journalists like Muhammad Bachal Ghaniyo and Jan Muhammad Mahar. He stressed that despite repeated assurances, the killers remain at large, and the number of slain journalists continues to rise, which is unacceptable.

Ahmed emphasized that Ghotki has become a dangerous district for journalists, and urged authorities to act swiftly in arresting those responsible. He pointed out that promises made by the Sindh Chief Minister, the Interior Minister, and the IG Sindh have so far been meaningless, as the perpetrators are still at large. The protest highlighted the need for urgent action to protect journalists in the region.
